Darlene Teahen obtained a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts and a minor in Business from Mount Allison University in 1997. Even though she enjoyed working in the business community, an event later in her life would take her down another path.
Darlene’s interest in health and a more holistic approach to eating and living started in 1998 when she became a volunteer firefighter and First Responder. Seeing so many people rushed to the hospital with illnesses that could have been prevented gave her much food for thought. Then when her young daughter experienced health challenges that could not be solved with conventional medicine, Darlene sought out alternatives. After reading, researching, and implementing alternative eating styles and treatment modalities for over ten years, her daughter finally regained her own health. As an added bonus, the health of the rest of the family improved and Darlene decided it was time to go back to school. She is now a Naturopathic Practitioner who specializes in nutrition and is passionate about assisting others to achieve optimum health and wellness. Now working toward her doctorate of natural medicine, learning is a lifelong pleasure.
Darlene’s vast professional history in the realm of the artistic world rounds out her enjoyment of life in general. An active participant in the art community for 20 years, she was a co-founder and manager of The Art Shack, Dieppe, NB, for 16 years, and owned and operated an art gallery in Dorchester, NB for 15 years where she displayed her art. Darlene has been also been a featured artist at exhibitions and an acquisition artist throughout New Brunswick, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Ontario.
