In 1997, Darlene Teahen earned a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and a minor in Business from Mount Allison University. Despite enjoying her work in the business sector, a life-changing event led her to a different career path.

In 1998, Darlene became a volunteer firefighter and First Responder, which sparked her interest in health and a more holistic approach to living and eating. Witnessing preventable illnesses in her community and her daughter's health challenges, which couldn't be treated through conventional medicine, encouraged Darlene to explore alternative eating habits and treatment methods. After over a decade of research and implementation, her daughter regained her health, and the whole family experienced better health as well. This motivated Darlene to return to school to become a Naturopathic Practitioner specializing in nutrition, and she is currently pursuing her doctorate of natural medicine.

In addition to her passion for natural health, Darlene has a rich professional background in the artistic world. For 20 years, she has been an active member of the art community, co-founding and managing The Art Shack in Dieppe, NB for 16 years and owning an art gallery in Dorchester, NB for 15 years where she displayed her own art. Darlene has also been featured as an artist in various exhibitions throughout New Brunswick, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Ontario.
